Iberdrola – Castellón (Spain)
Distributed control system SAT and commissioning for the Castellón 3 combined cycle plant. Two gas turbines and a steam turbine with a total installed capacity of 800 MW. Implementation of continuous and sequential control, complete development of the graphic system and operation interface, historian, remote control of the plant, functional tests and performance tests until the commercial operation started. Training for local operators.
The Iberdrola Group is today a world leader in renewable energies, with more than 43,421 MW of renewable capacity installed worldwide at the end of the first half of 2024. The Castellón 3 combined cycle has an installed capacity of 800 MW, and replaced a cycle commissioned in 1972 by Hidroeléctrica Española that ran on fuel oil.
