Iberdrola – Castellon (Spain)
Distributed control system SAT and commissioning for the Iberdrola Castellón 4 combined cycle plant in Spain. Two gas turbines and a steam turbine with a total installed capacity of 1600 MW. Implementation of continuous and sequential control, complete development of the graphic system and operation interface, historian, remote control of the plant, functional tests and performance tests until the commercial operation started.
The Iberdrola Group is today a world leader in renewable energies, with more than 43,421 MW of renewable capacity installed worldwide at the end of the first half of 2024. The Castellón 4 combined cycle, with an installed capacity of 850 MW, replaced a cycle commissioned in 1973 by Hidroeléctrica Española that ran on fuel oil.
